Workers Compensation

In the State of Maryland, both employers and employees will need to follow specific guidelines in cases where there has been an injury on the job. In order to comply with the state regulations for worker's compensation, patients must report the injury at the time that it has happened, establish a claim with a worker's compensation insurance carrier and obtain an immediate physicians diagnosis in order to file any necessary claims. At Briggs Chaney Walk In Clinic, we are able to treat the injury at the time of occurrence, and we are also able to evaluate our patients for treatment and rehabilitation protocols. This will also provide employers and employees with a course of action, and an estimation for loss of work time.

Trauma And Injury

Our caring staff is first concerned with diagnosing and treating the injury, so that patients can begin to recover from their injury with speed. In cases where industrial accidents have caused acute issues, we are able to review the extent of damage and take precautions that will be conducive to wellness. This can include addressing such problems as:

  • Lacerations
  • Contusions
  • Fractures and broken bones
  • Sprains and strains
  • Impact injuries
  • Eye injuries
  • Other minor wounds and trauma
  • Removal of Foreign Bodies

Our facility is equipped with state of the art equipment for running diagnostic tests. We are able to take X-rays, blood panels, and EKGs that can further assist with the treatment course, and the information that is necessary for patients to file a worker's compensation claim.

Once the initial concern has been attended to, we can also help our patients through follow up visits and set a course of treatment and rehabilitation that will allow for a speedy return to work. These follow ups and evaluations are also necessary for the legal obligations of receiving worker's compensation in Maryland, and will allow both the employee and the employer to properly file through insurance providers.

At Briggs Chaney Walk-In Clinic, our staff is also trained in physical therapy and rehabilitation. This type of rehabilitation can not only speed the healing time and ensure that range of motion is regained after a traumatic injury, but can also provide the required evaluations for worker's compensation claims.

While industrial accidents can often be the most traumatic type of workplace injury, we also understand that other work related injuries can be a cause for loss of time and the need for compensation. Other evaluations that our experienced staff is able to diagnose and treat include:

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Postural complications
  • Hearing issues from noise related trauma in the work environment

For these types of injuries, our staff can assist patients in finding immediate recommendations to ameliorate the issue, and can also provide the necessary diagnostic documentation should a worker's compensation claim need to be filed. Many of these concerns will require long term plans for treatment and can include physical therapy or chiropractic solutions. At Briggs Chaney Walk-In Clinic, we can accommodate patients for all of these eventualities and offer support in regaining a functional and healthy lifestyle.

Along with these treatment plans and options, we also have an on-site pharmacy, casting and orthopedic braces so that patients will be able to attain all the necessary to ease symptoms and further the healing process. For on the job injuries, we also provide patients the proper documentation that they need to provide to their employers.
